Today’s society is undergoing rapid change brought about by advanced knowledge, science, and technology. When Chosun University was established in 1946, one of its three missions included “productive education,” guiding our industry-academic cooperation projects since the very founding of the university. Furthermore, the establishment of the Industry-Academic Cooperation Foundation on April 12, 2004, allowed us to develop a robust system of cooperation between industries, academia, research, and the government, as well as efficient strategies that lead our efforts toward industrial progress.

To date, Chosun University’s Industry-Academic Cooperation Foundation has worked extensively in the development of next-generation growth drivers, regional specialized industry R&D projects, field-oriented training for regional specialized industries, support toward startups and technological licensing, a support system for regional businesses, and transparent management and independent and comprehensive management system―all in the service of practical use of our industry-academic cooperation projects and stimulus toward the regional economy..

Our efforts were recognized in the Grand Award for Regional Contribution, awarded at the “1st Korean Grand Award for Industry-Academic Cooperation” presided by the Korean Journalist Forum. The foundation also garnered the Presidential Citation for its contribution to industry-academic cooperation in the “9th Innovation Technology Fair” and the Ministerial Citation of Education from the “Contribution toward Startup Promotion.”

In 2020, we received nearly KRW 65 billion funding through national research projects, the largest recipient of such grant in the Honam region, while our holding company has become the largest of its kind in Honam, capable of producing profit through research products and the commercialization thereof.

We at Chosun University’s Industry-Academic Cooperation Foundation pledge to exert our utmost efforts in facilitating the commercialization of research products, maximizing the research ability of the university through systematic management, and serving as the center of the university’s growth, thereby putting Chosun University on track as a trusted member of the community and the center of Northeastern Asia.
